Goodbye GRE!!!
I took the Graduate Record Exam today as part of my application for vet school. I've been studying for it for about two and half months and I was very nervous to take it. When I got there I had to do some paper work and there was a section where you had to copy something, but you had to do it in cursive. I was so nervous about the test that I completely botched that part. Good thing it was part of the test.
It's a computer based test so you know what you get on two parts of it. The essay part gets graded and sent to you later. I was very, very happy with my score of 1200. Not to brag, but that's pretty good. So there GRE! You can't beat me! lol It was a good day after all :)

My Family
Well, since Elise already told you everything about my family.... Gosh! Just kidding sissy poo! :)
I'm the youngest of three kids and I have one brother and one sister. My brother, Colt, just graduated from BYU with a political science degree. Shauna, his wife, graduated from BYU as well with a degree in economics. They have one little girl named Ruby and another little bundle of joy on the way. Colt is thinking about applying to law school right now so we'll see where they end up. He likes to play video games and computer games. He also likes to tease me a lot.
Elise is my sister and she is a nurse (super cool!). She is big into fashion and always dresses with class. She graduated from the U. Her husband Matt just graduated with a degree in biology from the U too. He works at the airport so they get to travel a lot. They've gone to some pretty awesome places that maybe one day I might get to see.
My mom is amazing. She is an accountant and she really knows her stuff. She is one of the most talented horse people I know. She sews and quilts like a pro and pretty much everything she does turns out awesome. :)
My dad is the best. He loves to ride horses. He is also an excellent farrier. He is a diesel mechanic and knows a ton about cars. He likes to read all about history, but mostly westerns. He likes old country music and he plays the guitar very well. I love to hear him play.
So that's my family. They are the best a girl could ask for!

Day One - Me!!!
So I don't really have a very recent picture of myself. This was last August at our Region horseshow in Logan. My 15 facts are as follows, but I don't think all of them are that interesting:
1. I love to ride horses (Duh!)
2. I love to sew and be crafty.
3. I love to read all sorts of books. Pretty sure I read every one in the library when I was a kid.
4. I'm almost done with my Master's Degree in Extension Education (the countdown is on!).
5. I'm applying for vet school this summer.
6. I really like to bake, but only desserts :0)
7. I'm learning how to rope (very slowly to Scott's dismay).
8. I'm a night owl and I am very grumpy in the morning.
9. I currently am learning lots of big words for the GRE and I bug everyone when I drop them. It's kinda funny.
10. Scott and I teach the Sunbeams in our ward and we come home and nap pretty much every Sunday after church. They are so exhausting!
11. I used to collect stuffed animals. I had over 100 and each had a name that I remembered.
12. I love chocolate. It really is a "bandaid" some days :).
13. I have a shoe/boot addiction. Not good...
14. I really love school. I know, I know what a nerd, right?
15. I'm a game buff. I love to play almost any game any time.
Well, that was harder than I thought it would be, but there you go!

Beau's Cruciate Surgery
About a week and a half ago, Beau started limping. I didn't really think anything of it because usually he stops in a day or so. He didn't this time. I took him to the vet and lo and behold he had torn his ACL. So the only okay option was surgery. I wasn't excited and I'm sure if Beau knew what was coming he wouldn't have been either. On June 1st, 2011, he went in for a cruciate surgery. He came home that night and was all bandaged up and sore. He didn't feel good at all. I took some pictures the day after surgery.
| This is the incision all sewn up the day after he got home |
Needless to say, it was a rough couple of days for him. On a happier note, he is doing lots better and is even walking on his leg now. Scott still calls him Shaved Bum, but oh well. Hopefully his hair will grow back in before winter time.
Here are some pictures of Beau one week after his surgery.
Playing with his bone and doing much better
Incision site one week after surgery. It's already starting to close up and it looks a lot less mean than a week ago.
The "Boys"
I'm now going to officially introduce you to the "boys". The first one is Beau.
He is a blue heeler, which is a cow dog, but he is most definitely not a cow dog. He is my inside dog (like all the others aren't) and I've had him since he was a puppy. He is seven years old now. He lived with my parents the first three years of I went to college, but thanks to nice people that let us have our dogs he is now with us. He loves to go for walks and play catch.
Next in the line up is Tad. We got Tad last summer at the fair for $12. His kennel cost us more than that, but I'll take him any day.
He is my crazy boy that loves to play and annoy whenever possible. Especially Beau. He always has way too much energy and I can't ever seem to make him sit still for more than about two seconds. He's always fun for a good laugh with all his crazy antics.
The newest addition to the "boys" is Zeke. He's Scott's cow dog (well when he gets a little bigger) and is a Border Collie Heeler cross. Scott got him from his boss at work.
I don't have a very good picture of him seeings how we haven't had him for a week yet. He is such a cutie and he has one ear that hasn't come up yet. That is my absolute favorite. I hope it doesn't come up. It gives him more personality. Zeke loves to play with Tad and run around. I'm sure I'll see more of his personality develop as he gets bigger.
And last, but most certainly not least, is Scott. I met Scott on a blind date and never thought I'd see him again. He had big plans to go work on some ranch in Nevada and be a cowboy. I guess I convinced him to stay. We got married on May 9th, 2009.
Scott loves to rope and ride horses. He also really enjoys terrorizing the dogs. He wants to be a ranch manager one day.
So those are the "boys." Love, love, love all of them!!
Introductions
So as introductions go, I'm Jessie and this is my blog. My sister has been wanting me to start a blog for a while now so here I go. This could get interesting....
A little background info: Scott and I have been married for a little over two years now and we have three dogs. We are both going to school. Scott is working on his bachelor's in animal science and I'm working on my masters in extension education.
We both come from agricultural backgrounds. We love to ride horses, but in two very different venues. Scott basically loves to do anything that involves cows and roping. Me on the other hand, I have a need for speed! I love to run barrels and pole bend and all that crazy stuff.
So that's us!
